Hands On Class – Intermediate Level Cooking class – Kids 12 and up welcome – *Baking Pan included – Vegetarian Friendly – Includes a light lunch during class.
Join us on a fun Saturday and spend the day with Chef Michelle learning all about Pie. This is a perfect class right before the Thanksgiving Holiday to join and make some sweet treats. In this class students learn to make a fresh pie dough using butter from scratch which will be used to make a full sweet Pie of choice. The chef guides students through making the dough; forming it to filling it to designs for the top, and then baking it in class. Learn decorating techniques such as lattice work and other options for decor. Each student will be working with their own dough to create a full pie to take home. Various toppings and ingredients will be provided for students to choose from such as fruit jams, fruit compotes and other fillings of choice. During class the instructor will prepare a pie alongside the class as an example and lead a discussion on techniques followed by guidance of how to do lattice work and design work for the top of the pies. Each student will be making a fresh pie from start to finish in this class. The class will include a light lunch with coffee or beverage as part of the class. Each student will go home with a fully cooked Pie. Baking Time is included in the class. *A glass 9 inch pie pan will be provided for each student to use and take home as a gift at the end of the class. $150.00 Per person, includes all ingredients and supplies for class; Chef led class instructions & recipes included. A glass Pie pan is provided for each student to take home as a complimentary gift.
Work a day with Chef/Owner Michelle Gioviti-Reeves learning the basics for making Pie. Students will learn and apply kitchen basics and cooking techniques. This class will be limited in spots so that one on one training and teaching can be offered to every student. We will demonstrate techniques and cooking skills for you to execute on your own and have a question-and-answer period throughout the class. This class series is for students who are curios about baking & butter doughs and would like to improve their culinary skills. *Food safety, sanitation, kitchen navigation rules, and organization will apply.
