2024 Tuscan Food & Cooking Tour – Dear Students the Fat Tuscan travels to Italy every year in the month of October for a Food, Wine and Cooking Tour of Tuscany. Check out the information below for what we are up in the motherland and maybe think about joining us in the future!
The Fat Tuscan spends a wonderful week in the heart of Tuscany with 8 guests to travel, eat, drink and cook our way through the countryside. Chef Michelle Gioviti, the owner of the Fat Tuscan, leads this amazing all-inclusive Food & Cooking tour every year as couples immerse themselves in the countryside with her family tasting the best foods and learning authentic cooking traditions from locals.
Guests stay in the middle of olive groves & grape vineyards in a picturesque countryside in the Apennine Mountains along the Tuscan & Umbrian border. Each couple is hosted at a small Countryside Inn which has been completely renovated from a 300-year-old grain mill. The trip consists of a busy itinerary, a full week of nights gathered for the customary long dinners as a group, road trips to nearby medieval towns for dining in picturesque spots & wine tasting as well as daily excursions to small medieval towns. There will be plenty of food tastings of local delicacies & shopping excursions as well. Plus, a tour & tasting at a local winery in the countryside among the olive groves, and of course, intimate cooking classes at the home of our Italian family or at our Villa where we will prepare, cook & eat together at one big table. Spend your days & nights touring the countryside experiencing the Tuscan Life.
This Food Tour & Cooking Vacation includes a 7-night stay in a B&B, transportation including pick up and drop off from the Arezzo train station, breakfast (Continental Breakfast is supplied in each apartment’s kitchen for you to prepare at your leisure), all lunches & cooking class dinners, 6 days and nights to include the following: Restaurants, cooking , daily excursions to small little medieval towns amongst the hills of Tuscany, a van for travel for the group for the entire stay, a full-time interpreter during your week stay, wine tasting tours and more such as countryside hiking tours and or Truffle/Porcini Mushroom hunting with a local guide. The classes and accommodations take place in a small village about one hour from Florence near Arezzo in a town called Monterchi.
This is a Small Tour Group of 4 couples (8 student’s total). This ensures that we continue our personal service for small intimate Groups and give each person a vacation where you are not just on vacation but part of the family.
2024 Pricing: Pricing is based on per couple; A Deposit is required to reserve your space. First Come, First serve sign up. Pricing is emailed out at the beginning of each year’s tour when dates are announced. Pricing varies/adjusts yearly to account for current exchange rates, etc.
