HANDS ON CLASS – KID FRIENDLY – TAKE HOME DESSERT (STUDENT BRINGS PIE PLATE)
Join us at this fun class and learn all about perfecting the perfect pie! Students will learn tips & techniques for working with finicky butter doughs. Each student will make their own pie dough, fill their pie pan and learn lattice working from their dough for the top of the pie. First the chef leads students through creating pie dough from scratch after which they will demonstrate how to roll the dough out. Students will have a choice of an assortment of fillings such as jams, fruit and custards. After filling the pies the instructor will demonstrate different types of lattice work for topping the pie, such as basket weave, strips and design cutouts. At the end of class, the pies may be baked in class or taken home to be baked at a later date, (add an additional 45 minutes for baking time if baking in class). The instructor will also present a completed pie to taste along with coffee or other beverage as a lite snack at the end of the end of class. This is a perfect class so that you can take a fresh pie home to show all your friends or maybe enjoy later to wow at a dinner event. *pies freeze well. Each student needs to bring one 8 or 9 inch pie pan. Aprons recommended. $65.00 per person, includes all groceries, supplies, class instruction and printed recipes.
