Hands On Class – Kid Friendly – *Please bring a 9 inch tart pan with a removable bottom & a cookie sheet.
Join us on a Saturday morning and learn to make, form and decorate a Tart. In this cooking class, staff Pastry Chef Sienna will guide students through making a butter tart dough from scratch with techniques for filling, designing and baking. Each student will be working with their own dough to create a filled tart to take home. Various toppings and ingredients will be provided for students to choose from such as fruit jams and compotes for their filling choice. During class the instructor will prepare a tart with the class as an example and lead a discussion on techniques followed by guidance of how to do lattice work and design work for the top of the tarts. Each student will be making a tart from start to finish in this class. Finished Tarts may be be baked at home or in class; add an additional 30 minutes to class time if baking in class. The class will end with a sample of a completed tart served with coffee or beverage as part of the demonstration on finished product. Aprons are recommended. *A 9 inch or smaller removable bottom tart pan and a Cookie Sheet is required for this class. $65.00 per person, includes all groceries, supplies, tools, chef class instruction and printed recipes.
