Enjoy an afternoon with the Chef and Owner of the Fat Tuscan learning about Salt & Sugar preserving. December & January are great months in which Florida has an abundance of wonderful citrus with many of our own trees hanging full and low with sweet tangy fruit. The class will go over methods on types of traditional preserving as well as making an assortment of Citrus Preserves such as candied orange peel, Country Lemons (Preserved Lemons), and Lemon Curd. Some citrus will be provided, but if you have your own citrus trees bring some to share with the class. Fresh local varieties always offer the best flavors with no pesticides. The class is $65 per person and will include light beverages, all supplies, utensils, canning jars, cooking class instruction, ingredients & printed recipes for students to take home. *WE ARE IN NEED OF ORGANIC LOCAL CITRUS FOR THIS CLASS – DONATE AND RECEIVE A DISCOUNT.
