Enjoy an Saturday morning with chef and owner and make your very own fruit filled tart. This class teaches students to create a beautiful and tasty Tart starting with a fresh from scratch dough and offers an assortment of different types of fillings. In this cooking class students will learn to make a butter tart dough from scratch with techniques for filling, designing and baking. Each student will be working with their own dough to create a filled tart to take home. Various toppings and ingredients will be provided for students to choose from such as fruit jams and compotes. During class the chef prepares a tart with the class and a discussion on techniques will be given. A discussion and example of how to do lattice work and design work for the top of the tarts will also be discussed. Each student will be making a tart from start to finish in this class. Finished Tarts may be be baked at home or in class; add an additional 30 minutes to class time if baking in class. The class will end with a sample of a completed tart served with coffee or beverage as part of the demonstration on finished product. Aprons are recommended. *A 9 inch or smaller removable bottom tart pan and a Cookie Sheet is required for this class. $75.00 per person, includes all groceries, supplies, tools, class instruction and printed recipes.
