Special Mother’s Day Cooking Class – All About Tarts Workshop 

SATURDAY, May 10th 2025  – An Afternoon of Tarts  – Making Savory & Sweet Tarts – 11am to 3:00pm  –  8 Students Max.  

Hands On Class – Intermediate Level Cooking class – Kids 12 and up welcome – *Baking Pans included  – Vegetarian Friendly

Join us on this Saturday of Mother’s day weekend and spend a full day with Chef Michelle learning all about Tarts.  In this class students learn to make a tart dough using butter from scratch which will be used to make two types of tarts both a Savory Onion & Cheese tart & a Sweet Lemon Curd or Berry Jam tart.  The chef guides students through making the dough; forming it to filling it to designs for the top and then baking it in class.  Learn decorating techniques such as lattice work and other options for decor.  Each student will be working with their own dough to create two separate filled tart to take home. Various toppings and ingredients will be provided for students to choose from such as fruit jams and compotes for their filling choice. During class the instructor will prepare a tart with the class as an example and lead a discussion on techniques followed by guidance of how to do lattice work and design work for the top of the tarts.  Each student will be making tarts from start to finish in this class. The class will include tastings of a sample tart completed during the class with coffee or beverage as part of the demonstration on finished product.  Each student will go home with two fully cooked tarts. *Two tart pans will be provided for each student to use and take home as a Mother’s Day gift at the end of the class. Aprons are recommended.  $150.00 Per person, includes all ingredients and supplies for class; Chef led class instructions & recipes included. Tart pans with removable bottom is provided for each student to take home as a complimentary gift.

Work a day with Chef/Owner Michelle Gioviti-Reeves learning the basics for making Tarts & Fillings.  Students will learn and apply kitchen basics and cooking techniques. This class will be limited in spots so that one on one training and teaching can be offered to every student.  We will demonstrate techniques and cooking skills for you to execute on your own and have a question-and-answer period throughout the class. This class series is for students who are curios about baking & butter doughs and would like to improve their culinary skills. *Food safety, sanitation, kitchen navigation rules, and organization will apply.
